For extended trips or when your yacht is quite large you should consider installing water heating.
The boiler heats the water which is then pumped to the radiators or heat exchangers. They then transfer their heat to the air to create a natural circulation of hot air and an agreeable temperature. To ensure proper heating, however, the radiators must be positioned in such a way so as to realise this natural circulation. This requires space in the interior, which is not available on smaller boats.
Another popular choice today is a combination boiler. In addition to a pleasant interior climate, they also provide ‘unlimited’ hot tap water. As the water is always above 60°C, water from a combination boiler is safer than from a normal boiler (the latter are often set too low or are switched off for long periods to save energy).
